Mini-lysimeter Systems

Lysimeters have a long and storied history of use for quantifying evapotranspiration in the field, but they are not typically used to control root-zone water status.  Plant responses to water stress are often studied in greenhouses and growth chambers using containerized plants, but maintaining steady-state water stress in containers is extremely challenging because the limited rooting volume results in rapid changes in root-zone water potential.
